Oxbow Farm and Conservation Center Virtual Field Trip

Description

Our first field trip of the year is here! We're headed (virtually) to Oxbow Farm and Conservation Center to explore the Snoqualmie Valley's ecology, and learn more about the plants that humans (and other critters!) eat. Students will take a live video tour of what’s growing on the farm, looking for ripe fruits, farm helpers, and pests. They will also explore farm phenomena such as decomposition and plant life cycles. Each grade will participate in their own virtual farm tour, tailored to their age group, exploring Life Sciences through guided inquiry.

Field Trip Schedule:

  • Nov. 2 (10-11am Kindergarten / 2-3pm 3rd Grade)
  • Nov. 3 (10-11am 1st Grade / 11:20am-12:20pm 2nd Grade & 2/3 Quest)
  • Nov. 4 (10-11am 5th Grade / 2-3pm 4th & 4/5 Quest)

More information about Oxbow and a collection of their educational videos can be found here.

Thank you to all families who have donated to the PTSA for helping to fund this field trip! And that you to our VP of Student Enrichment, Keri Morgan, for organizing this event!
