SUBJECT: Bulldog Blast 2-17-23

February 17, 2023

Save the date for Bell PTSA's S.T.E.A.M. Night on Thursday, February 23rd from 6:30-8:00pm. We have a fun lineup of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math organizations providing hands on activities, information, and fun for our school community. We'll have booths from Museum of Flight, MadScience, Tomāto TomÓ“to Creative, Seattle Infinity Math Circle, CreArt Studioz, Leap4Kids, and more!

Volunteer for Event Set-up/Clean-up Here

To build excitement leading up to S.T.E.A.M. Night, we will be having morning science assemblies from Mad Science. We have 2 days of assemblies with groups split by age to make sure everyone gets a good seat at the show.

MadScience Fire and Ice Show: This spectacular show surprises audiences with the impressive power of molecules. Starting with a simple piece of paper and escalating to monstrous clouds of water vapor, children are astonished when our gallant volunteer Eggbert gets trapped in a flask and escapes with the aid of frozen carbon dioxide gas. They gawk at a shivering coin and shriek with delight at our famous Mad Science burps! This show is so cool it’s hot!

Schedule:
Tuesday, February 21: Grades 3-5 - 9:45-10:45
Wednesday, February 22: Grades K-2 - 9:45-10:45

Mrs. Lustgarten will be back for art lessons with all Bell students this spring! For each art lesson we would like to have a volunteer to assist. Lessons for grades 1-5 will be held in the Art Room. Kindergarten lessons will be held in the Kindergarten classrooms.

If you can help, please sign-up (link below) and plan to arrive 10 minutes before the lesson listed below to help with any set-up and to stay 10 minutes after to help with clean-up.

We still have a few chair/committee positions to fill for this school year. If you're interested in any of the following volunteer positions, please email president@agbellptsa.org.

Help our Staff Appreciation Chairperson plan a fun week of surprises to show Bell staff how much we appreciate them! Planning starts NOW for Staff Appreciation events the week of May 8th.

We need a party planner extraordinaire to help co-chair our upcoming Spring Carnival and Dance to be held May 19th. Help plan a fun night with a DJ, dancing, games and treats!

Help us evaluate PTSA programs to ensure our goals of equity, justice, respect, and inclusion of all children are being met.

Monthly DEI Committee Meetings are held at the district level to provide you with information and resources.

Chair/Co-Chairs needed for the Talent Show! We have the Talent Show scheduled for June 8 (rehearsal June 7 after school). Responsibilities include: creating a student signup, communicating event info, and coordinating rehearsal and show logistics. If we do not have a volunteer by Feb 28, we will have to remove this event from the calendar.

Do you want to get involved but aren't sure how to?

Complete this volunteer interest form to let us know what you might be interested in helping out with. We will reach out as we begin planning events/programs that align with your interests. Or, email president@agbellptsa.org and we will find a spot for you!
