SUBJECT: Bulldog Blast 3-25-22

March 25, 2022

Get ready, Bulldogs! It’s almost time for Bell’s annual book exchange. In order for this event to be successful, we need LOTS of books donated! Our goal is 1,500 books.

DONATE BOOKS: April 11 - 15

Collection bins will be in front of the school April 11-15.

We will be accepting PreK - 5th grade age appropriate books. We have a special need for kids’ chapter books. Dog Man books were a huge hit in the past! Through the community’s generous donations, last year we were able to get three gently-used books into the hands of every Bell student and we’d love to do the same this year. Please help us spread the word and check your home libraries for books you are ready to pass on. Thank you!

We are thrilled to bring back our before and after-school enrichment programs this spring. Visit the enrichment classes page for more information and to register.

Registration is open now!

A few updates:

  • Art class is full
  • Soccer - 18 students registered so far (still some spots left)
  • Mad Science - a few spots left
  • Flag Football - only four students signed up so far. Class minimum = 8
  • All Sports - only five students signed up so far. Class minimum = 8
  • We still need chaperones for the before-school sport classes. We're all set for art, science, and soccer.

As with all of our classes, we MUST have a parent chaperone for each class. The chaperone must be a PTSA member (for insurance coverage). The main duties of the chaperone are to make sure the students are safe and where they're supposed to be, and to ensure there are two adults present at all times (one being the instructor). By chaperoning, your student gets free tuition. To volunteer to chaperone, email studentenrichment@agbellptsa.org..

Thank you to our VP of Student Enrichment, Keri Morgan, for all of her work to bring these awesome programs to our families.

Dine-Outs are one of the ways we fundraise throughout the year. We partner with local restaurants who give a percentage of sales to Bell PTSA for the day of the event. It's a great way to come together to support our school and our local restaurants. Please mark your calendars and join us for our next event, and encourage your friends and neighbors to join as well. Thank you, Whitney Takaba, for organizing all these great events!

  • When: March 28-31 (4-day event)
  • Where: Dough Zone - 520 Uptown CT, Kirkland Urban
  • How: Dine-in or take-out food from Dough Zone between March 28 - 31 and 20% of your order total will be donated to Bell PTSA. The promo code is Bell (for online, phone, or in-person orders).

Do you have an interest in helping kids showcase their talents? Are you digitally savvy? If so, we're looking for a parent volunteer to coordinate a virtual talent show this spring.

Please contact communityevents@agbellptsa.org with questions or if interested!

The recess soccer program has been such a HUGE hit! We need volunteers to keep this program running. We need 2 volunteers every Tuesday and Thursday from 12-2. Please sign-up HERE to help out.

Our Green Team needs more help in the lunchroom. We need one volunteer at each lunch period to help the students with composting and food donations. Click HERE for more information and to sign-up to help.

We’re looking for people to step into board positions for next year (2022-23). The board has term limits of 2 years for each position. Many of our current board members are in their second year.
Email nominations@agbellptsa.org if interested in learning more about a board position.

Please visit our volunteer page to see all current volunteer opportunities. If you want to help out but aren't sure about the best way to get involved, fill out the volunteer interest form, and we will connect with you.

Broadway Bulldogs presents the first of six short fairy tales.

We are one week away from wrapping up the Read 4 Adventure program. Be sure to check in with your student and see how they are progressing with their reading minutes. Encourage them that it is not too late to get their 8 hours of reading in so they can earn a voucher for High Trek Adventures! Happy Reading!
