Save the date for Bell PTSA's S.T.E.A.M Night on Thursday, February 23rd from 6:30-8:00pm. We have a fun lineup of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math organizations providing hands on activities, information, and fun for our school community. We'll have booths from Museum of Flight, MadScience, Tomāto TomÓ“to Creative, Seattle Infinity Math Circle, Leap4Kids, and more!

Leading up to S.T.E.A.M. Night we will be having 2 science assemblies from Mad Science on February 21 (grades 3-5) and February 22 (Grades K-2) during the school day. MadScience Fire and Ice Show: This spectacular show surprises audiences with the impressive power of molecules. Starting with a simple piece of paper and escalating to monstrous clouds of water vapor, children are astonished when our gallant volunteer Eggbert gets trapped in a flask and escapes with the aid of frozen carbon dioxide gas. They gawk at a shivering coin and shriek with delight at our famous Mad Science burps! This show is so cool it’s hot!

This year's school play will be directed by Studio East. The students will be performing The Amazing Adventures of Super Stan.

We are looking for 2 more volunteers to serve on the nominating committee to help elect the 2023-2024 Bell PTSA Executive Board.

The nominating committee helps interested community members connect with the current board to learn more about board positions and help to identify candidates for next year's board. The nominating committee will present their nominations for the 2023-2024 Board Election at the May general membership meeting.

If you're interested in learning more about serving on the nominating committee, email president@agbellptsa.org.

Calling all students!

All entries are due by March 1

The winner will receive a free yearbook and other entries will be featured in the yearbook as well. Visit the Yearbook Contest page for all details and requirements. Below are a few of the amazing works of art recently submitted.

Do you want to get involved with the advocacy work the PTSA does? We have some great ways to get involved:

Focus on Advocacy Week: February 6-10

Focus on Advocacy Week is February 6-10. Each day will focus on a specific issue from our Top 5 legislative priorities. During this week, community members can participate in daily calls to actions. Subscribe to WSPTA Action Network to participate.

Focus Day Returns: February 20

Focus Day will be February 20, 2023, in Olympia. Members are encouraged to meet with their legislators about our 2023-2024 Legislative Priorities. Use the resources in the advocacy toolkit to make appointments and plan successful meetings.

Questions: email advocacy@agbellptsa.org

Bell preschool students have been having regular visits to the library. Mr. Marino is looking to grow the library's collection of board books for our preschool students. If your kids have board books they are ready to pass on to new little readers, you can drop off board book donations at the Bell front office.

Christy Keating, the parent ed speaker we had at our December PTSA meeting, is hosting a virtual parenting summit. It’s called The Safe Parenting Summit, and starts next week, running online from February 6-10.  It’s completely FREE (though you do have the option to upgrade your ticket for lifetime access), and touches on all aspects of safety from body safety, to online safety, to brain-safe parenting strategies to letting kids take risks and building a safer world for ALL our children. There are nearly 30 speakers with an incredible depth and breadth of expertise to share with parents of kiddos ages 4-14.
