SUBJECT: Bulldog Blast 9-9-22

September 9, 2022

Welcome to the 2022-23 school year and if you're new to the school, welcome to the Bell community!

The PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) is a non-profit organization that works to advocate for children and enhance the educational experience for all students. We work to build a stronger, more inclusive school community.

We invite you to learn more about the Bell PTSA and consider getting involved - we can do more together!

What does the Bell PTSA do?

Our mission is to create and foster opportunities that enrich and support our children, teachers, and community.

Our four main areas of work are:

  • Advocacy

  • Educational Enrichment

  • Community Connection

  • Giving Back to Our Community

Visit agbellptsa.org/ptsa_work to learn about our work and the impact we have in our community.

How can I stay informed about what’s happening?

The PTSA's exclusive interest is in the health, welfare, safety, and education of our children. The more engaged and involved we are as a school community, the more our students and our school will thrive. Join us in supporting our school, staff, students, and community and become a member today!

As a reminder, all PTSA memberships expire at the end of each school year. If you haven't renewed your membership (or if you're new to Bell), join all the amazing teachers, parents, grandparents, and community members who make up our PTSA. Your membership, financial donations, and volunteering are what make our work possible.

Join today!

We are excited to announce our fall Enrichment Class offerings:
Choir, Snapology, Art, Karate, Soccer, Chess, Hip Hop, and Science.

*Please note the soccer time and price was incorrect on our flyer. Soccer will be Wednesday 2:30-3:30 Cost: $252 (due to added class days)

Visit our 6crickets portal for class schedule, descriptions and registration.

Registration opens 9/9 at 5pm

As with all of our classes, we MUST have a parent chaperone for each class. The chaperone must be a PTSA member (for insurance coverage). The main duties of the chaperone are to make sure the students are safe and where they're supposed to be, and to ensure there are two adults present at all times (one being the instructor). By chaperoning, your student gets free tuition. To volunteer to chaperone, email studentenrichment@agbellptsa.org.

Visit the enrichment classes page for more information on need-based scholarships.

We are so excited to kick-off the school year with a fun get together for Bell students and families!

We will be hosting a Back to School Picnic on Thursday, September 15, 6:30-8pm on the Bell playground. Bring a picnic dinner or grab a free hot dog from our hot dog stand. There will be a bouncy slide, spirit stand, and playground games as well as a visit from Chillz Ice Cream Truck with ice cream for purchase.

To make this event a success, we need all the help we can get! Please look over our signup and volunteer in anyway possible. We have before, during, and after the event positions available.

Picnic Volunteer Signup

Our first Popcorn Friday of the year will be on Friday, September 16!

Questions? - Please don't hesitate to contact us at president@agbellptsa.org.

Last year we noticed a lot of pet waste on the trails at Bell Elementary and we had more than a few kiddos stepping in dog poop (yuck!). A Bell parent contacted the city and had a pet waste station installed at the trail head on 112th street (thank you, Brandon). The city absorbed the cost of the installation; however, our community is responsible for restocking bags. We would appreciate dog bag donations. The specific type of bags used in this station can be purchased HERE. Please drop bag donations off at the front desk or ship them directly to Bell to the attention of the PTSA.

And as a reminder, please ALWAYS pick up after your pets!

Our first PTSA community meeting of the year will be held on Zoom on Thursday, September 29 at 7pm. Join us to learn more about the PTSA and the programs and events we have in store this year. We will also vote on budget amendments and elect several additional PTSA Executive board members. All Bell families are encouraged to attend! However, only PTSA members can vote. Join today and have a voice and a vote within the PTSA.
