We are thankful to be part of a school community that celebrates our LGBTQ+ students, staff, and families and has created a space where everyone who identifies as LGBTQ+ and gender non-conforming knows they are valued.

Pride Month is not only a time for celebration, but also a time to reflect on the trials the LGBTQ+ community has endured and to celebrate those individuals who have fought — and continue to fight — for full equality. We stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community in their ongoing struggle against discrimination and injustice. 

We are getting a little worried that we have two key board positions still open for next year. We need your help!

Open positions:

• VP of Community Events - Do you like bringing the community together? Did you enjoy the Spring Dance & Carnival? How about the Harvest Party or the summer community gatherings? If so, we need you to help organize these events (you will have lots of help)! 
• VP of Educational Enrichment - Do you want to bring language classes to Bell? How about more S.T.E.M. programs and science events? Do you want to bring chess, guitar, tennis, soccer and other phenomenal programs to Bell? If so, this is the role for you! 

These roles can be split. Grab a buddy and do it together. These roles are NOT limited to women, nor are they limited to stay-at-home parents. We have a number of board members that work outside the home, and it is well past time that we had some men join the board. Please email president@agbellptsa.org to discuss in more detail.

Thank you to Tennile Jones, Svetlana Titova, Stephanie Whicker, Salma Gharib and Michelle Ferris for planning our 5^thgrade Promotion Ceremony. This group of women have worked diligently to plan a special ceremony for our fifth graders to see them off to their next chapter. 

• Date/Time: Tuesday, June 14, 2 - 3pm
  
  
• Location: Bell Elementary – Outdoor event on the blacktop, rain or shine.
  We are excited to be able to bring back families to see our 5^th graders accept their certificates this year! Your student’s teacher sent out a link to a form in the most recent newsletter to RSVP so we can make sure there is a chair for everyone.
  
  
• Photo Opportunities: Feel free to take pictures of your students as they accept their certificates - they earned them! There will also be time for additional individual family photos after the ceremony.

We need a volunteer videographer to film the event. If you or someone you know can help, please contact Michelle Ferris at MichelleFerrisPTSA@outlook.com.

We have a special gift for each child to celebrate their move from 5^th to 6^th grade to take with them at the end of the ceremony.

The yearbook was finalized and submitted for printing last week. THANK YOU, Dawn Matsui Liu, for volunteering so many hours to create this lovely yearbook for our community. It turned out beautifully! And thank you to everyone who uploaded photos on TreeRing throughout the year.
