One of the Bell PTSA's core focus areas is educational enrichment. Art with Mrs. Lustgarten is one of the enrichment programs the Bell PTSA brings to our school. Click the video link below to learn more about the art projects in each classroom and to see some of the wonderful creations from this month.

Good news! We got the ok to have one volunteer in the classroom for each art lesson. If you are already signed-up, thank you! If you'd like to help, sign up HERE.

We kicked off the recess soccer program this week and it was a huge hit with the kids! So much so that we split the field in two to allow more kids the opportunity to play at the same time.

We’d love to get one more volunteer for each soccer day. With 2 games going, it works best if there is one volunteer available to supervise each of the 2 groups waiting for their turn. If you’re able to help with recess soccer on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00-2:00, please sign-up HERE.

High Trek Adventures Everett is teaming up with the Bell PTSA to encourage our students to develop strong reading habits as well as experience outdoor adventures in the PNW!

If your student completes and records 8 hours of recreational reading in the month of March, they will earn a voucher from High Trek Everett valued up to $50.

Visit our Read 4 Adventure page for more information and a printable reading log.

Deadline Extension

Due to the limited number of entries received, we are extending the deadline for the yearbook cover contest to the end of this month.

This year’s theme is:

Expect the Unexpected

What does that look like to your student? Have them create their artistic vision, take a photo of it (or scan it), and email it to yearbook@agbellptsa.org

Be sure to keep the original art, as we may need it. Visit the Yearbook Cover Contest page for more info.

ENTRIES DUE BY MARCH 31

Questions: email yearbook@agbellptsa.org

Bell PTSA recently relaunched the composting program and the food donation program at Bell. We need one volunteer at each lunch period to help with the following:

  • Help students dispose of their food appropriately (compost & garbage)
  • Collect uneaten/unopened foods for the food bank (e.g., uneaten fruit, unopened milk, unopened packaged items, etc)
  • Take the food from the collection bins and put them in the donation fridge and donation container (and document).

We recently got approval to bring more volunteers in to help run this program and we could use some help! Please sign up HERE to help.

Girls on the Run

Bell will be hosting a Girls on the Run team for 3rd-5th grade girls this spring.

  • Practices will be held outdoors at Bell on Tuesdays & Thursdays from March 22nd - May 24th with a celebratory 5K on May 22nd.
  • Please see the included flyer and these national and local promotional videos for more information. Space is limited: click here to register.
  • We welcome parents or staff members who would like to volunteer as a coach or 'Superstar Supporter'. Contact Kelly Keller for more information: kellymkeller@gmail.com.

Thank you, Kelly Keller, for organizing this awesome program for Bell. And thank you, Keri Morgan and Erin Barr, for joining as coaches!

During our Q&A with Dr. Holmen, we asked him how to best advocate with our legislators. Dr. Holmen stated, "It's amazing how impactful the legislature is on our ability to educate kids." He went on to say that we should be asking our legislators to do two things:

  1. Fund the prototypical school model - the prototypical school model recommended by the work group.
  2. Stop implementing legislation that is not funded

We encourage all of you to contact your legislators and advocate for our schools and our kids. Visit our advocacy page for more information.

This week in the legislature, the house and senate each released their respective budgets. Read this week's full report from WSPTA for more information.

Thank you to everyone who joined the Bell PTSA community meeting last night. We conducted a Q&A with Dr. Holmen, amended the 2021-22 budget, voted in our nominating committee, made a minor change to our board structure, and provided an update on all enrichment programs and community events. A recording of the meeting can be viewed here. The presentation and minues can be accessed on the PTSA meeting page.
