Bell staff: THANKYOU for all you give to Bell students every day. We hope today's staff appreciation event showed you just how much this community appreciates all you do. Wishing all of you a peaceful and rejuvenating holiday break.

Thank you, Debby Willsey and Randee Jez, for organizing today's staff appreciation event, and thank you to all the folks in our community who donated items or volunteered their time.

Today's event included:

• A table of "staff favorites" office items for Bell staff to help themselves to.
• The staff lounge and pre-k area were filled with homemade food, snacks, and a coffee bar.
• Eack K-5 teacher received an adorable printed gift with quotes from their students (included in the video below).

We recently created a community group on Facebook to provide a space for families to connect, share information, ask questions, and support one another. If you are looking to connect with other families in our community, we encourage you to join the AG Bell Elementary Community Group.

We've had a number of families reach out about challenges with child care and struggles finding transportation to and from school. And while we know this is a complicated issue with no easy solution, we think the first step is creating a space where Bell families can easily connect with one another. Maybe you live near another family who is looking to carpool. Maybe you have a student in middle school or high school who could help with child care. 

We hope this virtual community group will be a space where we can highlight challenges such as this and work together to find solutions. Thank you, Keri Morgan, for creating this space. 

After the holiday break, we'd love to see some new faces volunteering at Bell. Below are a number of ways to get involved:

• Help out with our Green Team - sign-up here.
• Help out with lunch and recess (1/28/21 last day for outdoor dining) - sign-up here
• Help out with art lessons - sign-up here
• Help out with Popcorn Friday - sign-up here
• Donate an air purifier to a classroom - sign-up here
• Become a room parent (5th grade) - sign-up here
  
  
• We’re looking for people to step into board positions for next year (2022-23)
  The board has term limits of 2 years for each position. Many of our current board members are in their second year. The current president, treasurer and secretary are all in their second year. Start date: July 1, 2022
  
  
• We need two more volunteers to join the Nominating Committee.
  This committee is responsible for finding folks to nominate for PTSA board positions. next year.
  
  
• We need one more volunteer for the financial review in January/February
  no experience needed - takes 2-3 hours to review the financials.

All volunteers must:

1. Be approved as a volunteer through LWSD 
2. Be fully vaccinated - proof of vaccination MUST be provided to the district.

Take your family to the Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink during the holiday break! 

Mention "Bell" for each paid admission and a $3 donation will be made to the Bell PTSA!  

• Dates: November 19, 2021 - January 9, 2022
• Location: Bellevue Downtown Park, 100 100th Ave NE (south of Bellevue Square)

The ice rink is part of the Bellevue Season of Cheer. Families can make it a night of holiday fun with a visit to Snowflake Lane and a stroll through the Garden d’Lights at the Bellevue Botanical Garden.
