SUBJECT: Bulldog Blast 11-12-21

November 12, 2021

Each year, the Bell PTSA organizes a holiday gift drive during the months of November and December. We work closely with the school counselor to gather wish lists from Bell students whose families need help getting gifts for their children. We then share these wish lists with our community and ask members to purchase items from the lists.

Please sign-up today and drop off the wrapped gifts at Bell's front office by Friday, December 3rd (put a tag on the gift with the child's number from the sign-up).

Please join us for our next Dine-Out event! Mark your calendars and invite your friends and neighbors as well. It's a great way to support our school and a local restaurant.

  • Where: Rush in Alaskan Dumplings (13501 100th Ave NE)
  • When: Thursday, November 18th (11am - 8pm)
  • How: RSVP here: https://grouprai.se/f201264, so they can staff accordingly. Then, simply order your meal (either in-person or over the phone) and let them know you're with AG Bell. 15% of your order will be donated to Bell PTSA.

The teachers, staff, and PTSA want to give a big Bulldog Howl to the following students. Each of these students created some incredible art, and all of them are moving forward in the Reflection's competition. The Reflection judges reviewed each submission and moved all of these students to the next level in the competition! Click the video below to see the art they created.

Congratulations to..

LWSD has immediate openings for all substitute teachers and classified substitute positions in LWSD. The district is currently offering emergency substitute certification (no teaching certificate required).

We have already had a few Bell parents apply and we are thrilled about it!

One of the PTSA's goals for this year is to increase the level of volunteerism and school involvement at Bell. We strongly believe that communities thrive most when we all come together and pitch in and help out. We are thrilled to see so many new faces coming in to volunteer this year - THANK YOU! But, we would love to see MANY more people getting involved. We ask that you please carve out time and give back to our school. Here are a few simple and fun ways to give back to our school community:

Last week, the PTSA hosted the first school-wide virtual field trip of the year, to Oxbow Farms. As we begin organizing other virtual education events, we would love to hear feedback from our community. Did your student like the Oxbow Farm event? Are there other programs you would recommend? What other feedback do you have?

  • Parents/ Guardians, any and all feedback is appreciated. Email us at feedback@agbellptsa.org
  • Bell Staff, please take a moment to complete this brief survey about your student's experience with the Oxbow Farm virtual field trip.

Note: we have had a few parents reach out indicating they want in-person field trips. For safety reasons, off-campus field-trips and in-person assemblies are not approved at this time; therefore, we are bringing these enrichment experiences into the classroom in a virtual format (for the time being).

Did you know the PTSA's Executive Board has term limits? Elected officers are expected to be in their position for no less than 1 year, and they cannot serve more than 2 consecutive years in the same role.

  • The President, Brena Gattuccio, is in her second year
  • The Treasurer, Leslie Victor, is in her second year.
  • The Secretary, Jennifer Venters, is in her second year.

Given this, we need to find some new folks to step into board positions next year. This is precisely what the Nominating Committee does. They talk to community members and work to find nominees for next year's board. The PTSA's work is vital! We need to keep the momentum going by ensuring we have a board for next year.

We need two more PTSA members to join the committee (three people total). If you are interested in helping to find folks for next year's board, or if you're interested in a board position, please email Brena Gattuccio at president@agbellptsa.org. More information about each position can be found on the executive board page.
